Executive Board Meeting
Sirs Branch 19
April 3, 2014
Sir Tom Lathrop called the meeting to order at 10:00 a.m. A quorum was present.
ATTENDANCE: Sir’s in attendance were:, T. Lathrop, L. Kolano, D. Deonigi, K. Kuhn, K. Peterson, G. Garcia, R. Cashion, , J. Fernando, J. Barnaba, B. Persons, D. Williams, B. Stephenson, J. Carl Sr., J. Burton.
MINUTES: The Executive Board Meeting minutes from March 2014 were approved.
TREASURE’S REPORT: Sir Kuhn reported that total funds in the branch general account are $4,457.27 with an additional $608.07 in the bowling account and $1,213.81 in the Golf account. Motion to accept the report was seconded and approved.
MEMBERSHIP REPORT: Sir Peterson reported that membership was 136 including 5 inactive. During the month three members resigned. Two guests is expected today. A discussion of the reasons behind the resignation of Board member D. Kepper followed. The reason given to fellow board members was insensitive joke telling at the recent Leadership training session. Little Sir agreed to draft a letter to the Area Governor stating the Boards concern.
ATTENDANCE REPORT: Sir Cashion reported receiving 46 messages. 101 meal were ordered for today. He is also looking into a less expensive phone service.
BIG SIR REPORT: Sir Lathrop reported
- Nominating committee is underway. A suggestion was make to have J. Duncan fill out the year in place of Kepper.
- Speaker committee has a chairman in G. Fulmore.
- A/V issues on hold until parties can meet.
- Moving the July meeting date was discussed, but for many reasons we will keep July 3.
LITTLE SIR REPORT: Sir Kolano reported that today’s speaker would be Jim Carley, a Certified Senior Advisor. The subject will be “How to Make Retirement Funds Last a Life time”.
ACTIVITIES REPORTS: Golf, Bowling, Bocce and Activities are planning to make reports to the membership.
