Executive Board Meeting
SIR Branch 19
April 2, 2015
Sir Larry Kolano called the meeting to order at 10:00 a.m. A quorum was present.
ATTENDANCE: Sir’s in attendance were: L. Kolano, B. Persons, D. Deonigi, K. Kuhn, K. Peterson, R. Cashion, J. Fernando, J. Barnaba, J. Duncan, J. Wolfe, B. Silberman, D. Diamond, D. Williams, J. Carl Sr., J. Burton, M. Mills and Area Governor Ed Benson.
MINUTES: The Executive Board Meeting minutes from March 2014 were approved.
TREASURE’S REPORT: Sir Kuhn reported that total funds in the branch general account are $4,539.40 with an additional $621.75 in the bowling account and $1,870.59 in the Golf account. Motion to accept the report was seconded and approved.
MEMBERSHIP REPORT: Sir Peterson reported that membership was 127 with 1 inactive. One new member will be inducted. Two guests is expected today.
ATTENDANCE REPORT: Sir Cashion reported received 20 messages from the hot line. All were excused. The hot line bill was $29.99. A small final billing is expected.
BIG SIR REPORT: Sir Kolano reported
- Volunteers to serve as Branch Coordinator, Area Bocce Coordinator, and Area Support Chairman were call for. Sir D. Diamond volunteered to be Branch Coordinator.
- Area Governor described the State Annual meeting and the need to sell vendor tables at $200 each to offset meeting cost. Each branch is asked to sell a table.
- Area Governor reviewed the Branch membership history. Sir Peterson added detail on resent addition to membership. The Governor continued to express concern over the current Branch size. Many Branches with only about 100 members have failed in the past.
LITTLE SIR REPORT: Sir Persons reported that today’s speaker would be Rhonda James, Director of Contra Costa Crisis Center.
Activities: Sir Barnaba listed the current Branch activities as 1) Bocce (Male and Coed), 2) Bowling, 3) Day trips (coed), 4) Dining Out (coed), 5) Golf 9 Hole, 6) Golf 18 Holes, 7) Hiking, 8) Poker, 9) Travel (coed), 10) Wine Tasting (coed), 11) Annual Christmas Party (coed), 12) Annual Branch Picnic (coed), 13) Area 2 Computers, 14) Area 2 Fishing, 15) Area 2 Sums in Retirement. The listing was approved by the BEC.
Bocce: Sir Fernando is looking for more courts.
Poker: Sir J. Garcia will coordinate with Wed Master.
Travel: Sir Padwardhan is working with other branches.
Nominations: Sir Fernando “still looking for Little SIR”
Golf, Bowling and Wine tasting are planning to make reports.
