Campo di Bocce event

SIR Branch #19 just hosted a pre-season Bocce Tournament for its members at Campo di Bocce in Livermore.  Twenty-four men, including newbies and seasoned bocce veterans, competed in this indoor competitive event held before the bocce season starts this Spring.  Afterwards, everyone enjoyed a delicious three course pasta feed in the bocce facilities integrated Italian Restaurant.  The Branch’s bocce chair, John Fernando, created the tournament rules.  Four six-person teams were led by their respective Captains: Dennis Barbieri John Fernando, Jim Garcia, and Tom Lathrop. The tournament ladder had two tiers.  Barbieri’s team won the overall event in a tight second match against Garcia’s team.  Fernando’s and Lathrop’s teams competed in the conciliation game.
